Every Monday, Meshkal compiles a calendar of political, cultural, and economic events taking place in Tunis for the week. No events included appear to require an entry fee. Some events are announced during the week and so may not be included at the time the events calendar is published.

Monday, November 18:

8:00 – Two-hour protest organized by the Tunisia Telecommunications Union in coordination with the UGTT over worker demands in various places of work.

10:00 – A plenary (full) session of parliament is scheduled to take place to look at setting up an ad hoc committee to study the 2019 and 2020 budgets.

18:30 – Lecture by Tunisian poet Tahar Bekri. Location: Institut français de Tunisie.

Wednesday, November 20:

10:00 – Unemployed archaeologists and specialists in national heritage are planning to hold a demonstration in front of the prime ministry office.

14:00 – Conference on the topic of “Human rights and the fight against terrorism” hosted by the Humanitarian International Law and Human Rights Club and the UN High Commission for Human Rights. Location: Law Faculty (Faculté des Sciences Juridiques, Politiques et Sociales de Tunis).

Friday, November 22:

11:00 – A second climate strike is planned for “climate justice and equality,” by Youth for Climate Tunisia. Location: Bourguiba Avenue, downtown Tunis.

Saturday, November 23:

9:30 – Debate on the topic of “The Left after defeat: end of a generation?” hosted by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Location: El Teatro, Belvedere.
