Monday, February 10:
9:30 – Parliament’s Committee on Elections is scheduled to hold a meeting to open the nomination process and approve the evaluation criteria for membership in the Commission on Sustainable Development and the Rights of Future Generations, according to Marsad Majles, the parliamentary watchdog project of NGO Al Bawsala.
10:00 – Parliament’s Committee on Martyrs and Wounded of the Revolution and of the Implementation of the General Amnesty Law and Transitional Justice is scheduled to hold a hearing with the president of the High Council on Human Rights and Basic Freedoms, the president of the General Commission on Resistance Fighters, Martyrs and Wounded of the Revolution and on Terrorist Attacks, and representatives of civil society, according to Marsad Majles, the parliamentary watchdog project of NGO Al Bawsala
10:30 – Press conference announcing the first Tunisian Music and Song Festival, set up by the Ministry of Culture. The festival is set to take place April 24-30. Location: Culture City.

Tuesday, February 11:
9:00 – Parliament is scheduled to hold a plenary (full) session to discuss a number of proposed organic laws, including: law No76/2019 approving a deal with the International Islamic Corporation for the financing of Tunisian refineries and the importation of crude oil in accordance with the Mourabha Agreement; law No64/2019 approving a treaty protocol with Italy on the improvement of infrastructure and primary education services; law No67/2019 authorizing the state to borrow additional capital from the Asian Investment Bank for infrastructure, and law No78/2019 authorizing the state to borrow additional capital from the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and to increase capital for international financial institutions.
Parliament is also scheduled hold votes on the following bills which were discussed during last week’s plenary session: law No48/2019 approving an agreement with the nation of Qatar concerning air transport between the two countries; law No10/2019 approving a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Sudan concerning maritime travel, navigation, and commerce; organic bill No94/2018 approving a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Djibouti concerning maritime travel and ports; law No93/2018 approving an agreement with the Republic of Guinea concerning the international transportation of people and goods by road. 10:00 – A protest is scheduled to be held in front of the Spanish embassy calling on Spanish authorities to release irregular Tunisian migrants detained in Melilla, an enclave in North Africa controlled by Spain but claimed by Morocco. Organizers of the scheduled protest include the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES) have denounced the “harsh humanitarian conditions,” of those detained, and families of those held are expected to demonstrate.
Wednesday, February 12:
